We're young and have had WLS. Everyone talks about excess skin, never bouncing back... But a lot of them are old... er, older. How much might young skin bounce back? I know your initial size has a lot to do with it, but I'd like your thoughts, or experiences. I've heard skin can take over a year to fully retighten ( if it so chooses)

Its really an individual situation... how and where you carry your weight and how big you start both have a lot to do with it. I am 3 and a half years out and ive lost 146 lbs, down to 150 from 296. My skin problems are right where i had the most weight gain and loss... my tire around my tummy, my arms, and my boobs. My legs were never a problem for me so they are fine and the little skin i did have ive really helped with toning them up. Eventually i do really want a tummy tuck, and boob and arm lift but i will probably wait until i have kiddos. Im always pretty self consious about it but then i just remember ill take this skin any day in place of that 146 lbs. haha :)

Bounce back depends on genetics and your size.

Some tend to think exercise helps IT DOES NOT! All your doing is building muscle which will help fill some of that extra space. While it makes the body look better it is not doing diddly squat to the skin in all reality.

I had surgery at 22.5 years old and am currently 6.5 years post-op (about to kiss 29 in a few weeks). I had bounce back in areas I am glad I did others not so much. I've learned to deal. And well if your worried about getting intimate afterward if your not married. Let me say its a NON issue. A real guy into you will not care.

I am only 6 months out so far and I already have crazy skin but I have lost about 130 pounds so far too.  And I know no matter how much I am in the gym its not going to help my skin.  My worst areas are my upper arms, my hips and stomach, and my thighs and my whooohaaa!  But I would much rather be this size now then 130 pounds ago.
