Hello Everyone,

So I am a bit flustered and confused. I know that I want weight loss surgery and there are no other questions about it however when I first started thinking about it and my mother in law found out I was going to do it she thought it was the best thing in the world because she knew of many of her patients who have had it and some people she knew and they said that they would do it again if they had to. Well tonight when we went to have dinner with her and I was asking why her friend did not attend the support group with me this past weekend she said because someone she knew said thaat she should not get it and that she wanted a move called "fat, sick and nearly dead" *or something like that* and it was so inspiring to her that these people could lose the weight on their own that she didnt need surgery. I dont know if it was just me being me and somewhat sensitive about the situation or what but it seemed like my MIL was basically trying to say doing it on your own is the way to go and surgery wasnt. I dont know!!! I know my MIL means well so I dont believe she meant any harm by it...its just frustrating and annoying...

You have to do what is best for you. Whatever that may be.  I could not do it on my own. Some people can, some people can't.  Weigh out the pros and cons. Continue to attend the support groups and make sure it's the right choice for you!

Although I'm sure MIL means well... your health is very important, and if you're going to do it, you might as well do it sooner rather than later while you're younger.

Best of luck!

Laurie
