Ok so I am almost 2 months post off and have a question for you guys. I have lost 36lbs and have always been top heavy in regards to my chest. Lately I have noticed that my lower back is killing me. It hit its worst so far when last night it woke me up in the middle of the night and had me in tears. Has anyone else experienced this?  I am wondering if my mid section has lost weight so fast that my back muscles are having a tough time supporting my chest and shoulders. My doctor said I am not released to lift more then 20lbs until 8 weeks out which I believe is still another week away. Any advise would be amazing! Thank you!

I had awful back pain from the moment I woke up from surgery and it didn’t get better till 6+ months after. I started seeing a chiropractor once I could lay on my stomach and he just said my muscles were tense and because I was losing weight so fast my back wasn’t catching up with my new posture and such. I would lay on the floor a lot and then helped and looked up back strengthening stretches and exercises. I do notice now it bothers me when I’m stressed, the chiropractor told me our stomach nerves are in the center of our back and guess what – that’s where all my pain is. It did go away in time but it was awful for me and I think I would have recovered quicker if I didn’t have it. lots of stretching and heating pads – also this stuff called bio-freeze, amazing. Makes it feel cool and takes away the pain for a while. Good Luck to you!

I deal with lower back cramps at night all the time. It could be your bed is too soft. But really, buying a matress is expensive. If yOu wake up inthe middle of the night try this stretch. Sitting on your knees, lean all the way forward with your arms stretched out in front of you. Place your palms, and forehead if you can on the floor infront of you. Your chest should be resting onyour thighs, and your butt is probably in the air a bit. This will help stretch out the lower back muscles. If you have a friend around who can gently push you tushey down, that will increase the stretch. If that dosnt work for you, lay on the floor face up. It will give your spine an opportunity to decompress without having to work at all.
