vitamins??
here's a pretty good thread on vitamins: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/rny/4189201/VITAMINS-so-confused/
my routine is:
am - 2 multivitamins, sublingual b12, iron, vitamin c & biotin
afternoon - 2 citracal (calcium citrate)
pm - 2 citracal
i only do 2 doses of calcium per my nutritionist because of the amount of dairy i consume. my labs came back normal for it, so until i see otherwise i'll continue with 2 doses.

Congrats on your success so far.
My vitamin regimine goes like this:
AM, before breakfast: Calcium (3 Citrical Petities), 2 Vitamin Ds (2000mg), Prevacid (my clinic requires this to help with prevention of post-op ulcers), Vitamin C
Two hours after (and after breakfast because a multivitamin should be taken with food): 1 Multivitamin (I was only told to take one so far), Biotin (5000mcg)
Two hours after: Calcium (3 Citrical Petites), 2 Vitamin Ds (2000mg)
Evening: Calcium (2 Citrical Petites)
I was told to take my Calcium a minimum of two hours before or after the multivitamin because the vitamin contains iron which interferes with absorption of the other (I don't remember which one).
Protein is difficult to get in initially, try different things and see if you can try them out in store before you buy if possible. It's taken me five months to find the protein I like (I use Nectar protein by Syntrax--you can get a sampler pack online whi*****ludes 13 flavours for 13 dollars which was helpful in figuring out what I liked). I also enjoy protein bars as a quick go to snack if I'm on the go. I looked up the protein bar you mentioned and from the rules I follow, it doesn't sound like the best option. It's listed at 400 cals, 13g fat, 41 grams carbs, 17 grams sugar and 30 protein. If you think about the calorie level you are probably consuming right now, that one bar is half your day's calories. But you'd still need to get in another 30 minimum grams of protein. As well, the carb and sugar levels are quite high and might cause you to dump. My rule of thumb for protein bars is 200 cals or less, 15 grams protein or more, 10grams of sugar or less and lower fat (although if it's a peanut butter bar, it's naturally going to be slightly higher fat). My current favourites are Quest bars, especially the Peanut Butter and Jam flavours because it really tastes like a PB&J on white bread.
I hope this helps and just remember everyday it gets better and easier!

I'm one of those people who cannot take most multi vitamins because they make me vomit so I proudly take Flinstones + Iron, which my surgeon said is totally legit even though all my friends make fun of me. After my band I was taking Citrical (actually taken this most my life) and for a while was on Fish Oil and D3+C but sadly it got harder for me to just take a hand full of pills like I used to because it was hard to swallow with my band. Now I just take the Flinstones + Iron and just make sure to include a lot of calcium/ protein rich foods in my diet as well as Vitamin C ones. Protein supplements aren't really supposed to taste good and even though I've found some I like I quickly get tired of making those shakes and drinking them every day. I really like Orgain, which is like a little protein shake in a juice box and has a lot nutrients in it. I go through phases of drinking it because I get bored easily and like to mix it up. Now a days, I usually stock up on Odwalla protein drinks that have 15-20 grams to get my day started. I drink a lot of skim milk, I can't even go back to 2% because it is too rich for me haha. I've developed a love for lentil soup, garbanzo beans (in salads or they're good roasted!) and eating hummus like it's chocolate chip cookie dough- Yes, I'm a weirdo. I used this website basically as my go-to after surgery: http://www.focus28diet.com/ It was recommended by my surgeon. I think I spent like 10 months with a surplus of their protein diet bars, which I loved and would take with me everywhere. They have great "snack" options that look so yummy (wow this site has improved since I used it last), a section on vitamins and some not too gross protein shakes.
I hope this helps!
Congratulations on your success thus far and good luck with everything!
