Now to make my list, what do i need post op??? and for the hospital bag??
for the hospital bag I didn't use much of what I took.
These are the things I used...
CHAPSTICK
robe
my own socks
slip on shoes (My feet swoll up so much I couldn't wear them much)
a few pair of extra panties
Phone and phone charger.
I wear my pj pants for one of my walks... but I got to hot so I didn't wear them again until I went home. Everything else stayed in my bag
Good luck!!!

HEY VANESSA! Yay... it is coming soooo quickly for you! That's so exciting!
Here is what I would suggest to bring with you to the hospital
1. CHAPSTICK: Your lips will be soooo chapped and dry
2. LISTERINE STRIPS: The mint kind, because your breath will be HORRID (this is for everyone that has surgery)
3. YOUR OWN PILLOW: Hospital pillows are sometimes not as "fluffy", etc. (you will also need to press this same pillow against your tummy on the ride home.. TRUST ME!!!!)
4. BODY PILLOW: This helped me personally...since I am a side and tummy sleeper. When you first get out of surgery, you will have no choice BUT to sleep on your back, but by the end of the 1st night into your 2nd day, the body pillow is helpful to be propped right along your back.
5. BATHROBE: I did not bother with pajamas to be honest. I used the johnny that they gave me...since it's easier when you have to go to the bathroom. (if you even go pee! lol). The bathrobe is quick and easy...and you can just throw it on right over the johnny to talk your FREQUENT WALKS.
6. TOOTHPASTE: Yes, the hospital supplies this, but it's cheap and leaves a really nasty after taste. I brought my own toothbrush and toothpaste, and thank goodness that I did.
7. WEAR LOOSE CLOTHING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT: Whatever you where to surgery, is what you are wearing on the ride home. BIG BAGGY shirt and pants BELOW the belly button is always best!
8. NECK PILLOW: I forgot to mention... NECK PILLOW! When you are in that medical bed, there is no incline or decline that is comfortable. A neck pillow (along with the body pillow) just adds a lot more comfort all around. (OPTIONAL)...
I think those were my main essentials. My mom brought me my phone, magazines, and my ipod... I didn't use any except for my cell, and I texted for maybe 10 minutes. Most of your time in the hospital should be taken advantage of 100%! Take it easy. Keep getting up to walk around. You are going to feel like you are pregnant, since your belly will be SO HARD since it's filled with gas. Walking is the only thing that helps!!!!
GOOD LUCK GIRL! Keep me posted.

haha i didn't even use anything i brought but my phone charger. it hurt to much to take my underwear on and off when i went to the bathroom so i just went commando, and honestly i was too drugged up to care (i made that pain button my best friend!). my lips didn't really get chapped. i brought a bunch of magazines and my friend brought me some too when she came to visit but i didn't even glance at them until i got home. all i did was watch abc family, walk and sleep. and i made sure i wore sweats to the hospital so i could just wear them home. i honestly don't even remember if i brushed my teeth and stuff while i was there (i know i did before i went home but i don't remember much of the in between days)
