I am probably overstressing this situation but here it goes.... I am a full-time student and work part-time three days a week  Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. I am getting my surgery on a Friday and have vacation time and sick days that I will use for that Friday, Saturday of the week of surgery and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of the following week. My boss is not happy though I am ALWAYS here and ALWAYS work weekends. She told me that I should have scheduled whatever it is I'm doing on the days that I'm off and that since I'm part-time I shouldn't need any Fridays or Saturdays off?! What does that have to do with anything? What is vacation and sick time for then? If I have to quit my job I will... I am getting my surgery on the 7th whether she wants to give me those days off or not I'm taking them. She says... well, I don't like to work on Saturdays... OMG!!! Its 2 days out of the entire year that she has to come in on a Saturday, I feel ike telling her to grow up and get over it. HELP!!! I am mad right now but I need to calm down and deal with this in the best way possible.

well i kninda feel you on this issue. I am temp at my job, and it pays pretty good, so asking for a week off sucked. They approved it , but they can just just call me and tell me to not come back if they want to. So im kinda scared and hoping that i will be ok to go back to work after only ine week.

PS thanks for the add of fb. I belong to a group for wls, you should join. go look at my groups !

God grant me with the serenity to accept the things i cannot change ;  Courage to change the things that i can ;  and the wisdom to know the difference!!!

I used to work for a place like that...No time off was ok, I had to fight for my wedding off....Did you tell her it was for surgery, I mean technically they cant ask what surgery if you want to keep that private, but let her know you are going in for serious surgery and she might let up on you.

I'm very suprised that this is not covered under DBL, it is surgery after all.
