Dark patches of skin, improvement after WLS?
I really HATE the dark pactches of skin that I have in several areas of my body including my neck. It does not matter what I do, how hard I scrub, I put alcohol on it, I have tried everything, IT WILL NOT GO AWAY! My surgery is next month, I was wondering if there is an improvement with this problem after surgery and if yes when do you start noticing it? THANKS!
As long as surgery helps with your insulin resistance it will dissapear.
Thoes patches are caused by insulin resistance in your body. You may not be Type 2 but you can still have some insulin resistance.
It will go away. Had that problem I'm 6 years post-op and no signs.

hey there....after SURGERY I had a dark patch on my neck. i tried to scrub it and also tried all types of products and it never went away. i finally went to the dermatologist and was given a prescrition. IT WORKED!!!! the doctor said it was a sign effect of weightloss, he gave me the name of what it was called, but i cant remember. whatever its called, it also causes hair thining and dark patches on your body.
