How long were you in the hospital after RNY?

I surgery date is quickly approaching and I was wondering how long you guys were in the hospital for. I would also like to know if you think its possible to be out and about 4 days post-op?

I had my surgery on a monday night. I was in the hospital till thursday afternoon. Saturday I was at the mall walking around and shopping.

I had laparoscopic RNY :)

I had surgery on a monday and went home wednesday early afternoon. My worst days were that thursday and friday because i was no longer getting that fab morphine drip lol... i was feeling a lot better Saturday (5 days post op) and by monday (1 week post op) i was really getting back to normal :)

Thank you ladies, this is exactly what I wanted to know. Do the medications they give you for pain to take home help any? I am such a chicken... I am scared that it will be VERY painful...

DS on 08/15/05

Had surgery on a Monday was home Thursday afternoon and was at a horse show Sunday with my sis.

I was an open DS six years ago.

DS Aug 15th,2005 @ goal, living life and loving it.

what type of surgery are you having? is it open or laprascopic? i don't think you'll be up and about at 4 days, i was at the point maybe around 8 or 9. but i had laprascopic rny on a monday and went home thursday morning as scheduled.
