We are all Young!!!
I finally found a forum on here that is dedicated to people in there 20's. I love it. It's great seeing people of all ages and sizes having surgery and having great weight loss, but there is something so comforting seeing people your age that you can relate to going through this journey.
I started my journey for wls about 2 months ago. I have lost 60lbs in the last 12 months dieting and exercising but I fill like I am just maintaining where I am. I am not losing anymore and not gaining anymore. I know i should be thankful I can maintain but I need to lose 100 more pounds. I decided that wls was right for me when I first came to this website. We see so many people on here that have dramatic weight loss success and I can't wait to be one of those people.
My schedule for the near future is
Aug 26th Diet and Physician's Assistant
Sept 8th Psych eval
Sept 13th Pulmo Sleep Apnea Assessment
Sept 14 letter of support from my PCP
Sept 20th meet with Nutrionist to get my date to meet the surgeon.
I am looking at Mid Oct for my surgery date. I was ready like Yesterday!! How about anyone else

Glad to see you have all your pre-op appointments made, you are well on your way! What type of sugery have you decided on?
I had the VSG on June 15, 2011, about 2.5 months ago. To date I have lost 55 lbs. I can honestly say this soon out it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have so much more energy and look forward to getting out of bed each morning. This site is full of alot of great information, and alot of great people!
Good luck with your journey, its life changing!!!

I can't wait until I am excited to get out of the bed in the morning, to say I am at my goal weight. Not even to say it but just to look and feel healthy is what I long for. I am determined to be a runner. I lost 60lbs just running no other exercises really just running and the weight fell off but now I feel like no matter what I do I still can't lose anymore weight. I am just so impatient I want the surgery now If the doctor would let me pay cash and have it I would that's how bad I want it. He said it's for the best to go through the entire program. I know it's for the best so i'm sticking it out..
I'm just wondering exactly what your diet is like the days you come home from the hospital?

I understand being so fed up and just wanting surgery so bad BUT, definitely stick it out and go thru the program! Knowledge is power and it will only make you that much more successful post-op!!!
I was on a week long clear fluids only diet prior to my VSG. Post-op was very strict. Week 1&2, clear fluids. Week 3&4, full fluids (Yop, strained soups etc.). Week 4&5 was the mushy stage where I introdced scrambled eggs, yogurt, ff pudding and so on. I can remember having my first scrambled egg...could only eat half!!! I did not introduce any solid food until I was a full 2 months out. Best is to follow your surgeon's plan exactly, every surgeon is different.
