Nervous Newbie!!
VSG on 01/17/12
Hi,
I'm 28 and I had the Sleeve done on Feb 22. I have lost 70 pounds now. At first the weight was just falling off, but I have hit the first slow point (3 months) I am still losing, just at about 3 pounds a week. You should be ecxited and nervous. This is a huge decision! This will change your life in ways that you don't expect. I have more energy (and I wasn't always tired or anything, and I never thought of my self as having low energy) I fell good in clothes, I enjoy looking at pictures of myself, and for the first time in a long time I wore a bathing suit with out a skirt!
There are some hard times and adjuesting periods, just to keep it real. It's not all fun and great. The hardest for me was not being able to sleep comforably for about 8 weeks. I was so sore and any movement in my sleep would wake me up.
EAT SLOW!!!!! I didn't understand how slow the doctor meant until I had thrown up a few times. I still get sick from time to time, but for the most part I know what will be okay, and I just take my time eating it.
Enjoy your new lifestyle!

Hey...where are you from exactly...not too many canadians on this site eh ;)
Surgery is over with, I'm sleeved....unfortunately it was way worse than what I was expecting so I am thankful its over and I am on my way to recovering and living a healthier life! It probably seemed so awful because I have ZERO pain tolerance...the hugest baby ever!
Do you have a date coming up?!
