Another newbie!

Hey guys, my name is Casey and I am 23 and will be hopefully getting the DS in August/September with Dr. Stewart.. I was really happy to see a board for patients my age because (not that it's a bad thing) most people on the DS board are a lot older than I am!

I have just been lurking in all the forums on OH like woah and trying to soak in as much info as possible. I am leaning most toward the DS right now but I still have a lot of questions and am somewhat hesitant because of the upkeep later..although I KNOW it has amazing long term results.

I currently am a graduate student and living in Texas..but i'm from Florida and lived in Ohio for my undergrad for the previous 4 years!

Hi Casey! i'm Danielle, and was 24 when I had my vertical sleeve gastrectomy surgery last year (the stomach-half of the DS). I just wanted to welcome you and let you know that you're doing the right thing by researching and soaking up the information before you make your decision. Good luck to you!

Welcome. I'm having gastric bypass to DS revision on Monday with Dr Keshishian.

AWESOME! Good luck and I wish you well. I had Gastric bypass surgery 2 months ago and a handful of days and its the best decision I have ever made in my life! Congrats on becoming a new you and being healthy! We will make some room on the "losers" bench for you! xoxo best of luck!

Welcome!! It's nice to have this board! Everyone's journey is different but it's more relatable when you are talking to people who are +-2 or 3 years more than 20 or 30 years!
