Hey guys. The title kinda explains it all... Is it normal to not have a period after surgery. Ive always been totally regular like clockwork...but not since surgery. Ive already missed TWO! Just wondering if this is normal or if I should be worried. Thanks everyone!!! :)

I feel like this is something you definitely want to follow up with your obgyn or surgeon. I mean, I'm only a few weeks out but in all my research I haven't heard of a side affect like that....

well when you have surgery  your hormones go crazy!!!, i wouldnt be worry about this quite yet!. I wasnt regular until i was like 6 or 8 months out of surgery, before surgery i had my period  maybe 4 or 6 times a year, i know i'm not complaining! lol. but now i'm pretty regular like a clock after 3 years out so. you should be back to normal soon, if you don´t get ur period next month would be a good idea to go see your Dr.
good luck!

Actually yes, amenhorrea is a frequent side effect of malnutrition (WLS) and trauma (WLS) and increased activity.  However, you might want to follow up with pregnancy testing if you are sexually active.

I'm kinda getting to be in the same boat.....3 weeks out and I am almost 2 weeks late now.  Negative preg test.  I've wanted to know if I'm just weird or others have experienced this too!

its normal! exactly what nursiegirl said is spot on.

i lost my period for 3 months when i was dieting before, just from not eating enough and over-doing the exercise!
