I Rember waiting for my turn at my drs ofice, n see all this people old and with way heavier than me and I was like omg i'm 22 n not heavier enough (yeah silly though though i wa snot that fat!! lol).
N when i met him he was Sooooo excited I was so young n wanting a change in my life, I asked him if he thinks it was the best decition for me n he told, me well I can't answer that cuestion, you have to figure it out your self, but I know i wouldnt want my daughter to end like all my older patienes that nees knee replacements n have heart conditions or sickness due their weight.
and her daugher had WLS too so that made me feel more confident.
althoug some dr,s would performed a RNY on a young patiends some wouldnt, I had the RNY, and i loveee it! but i think the VGS Its great choose too! n if i had the chance to have surgery again I Think i woulda choose that. just saying, so you can be more open to options.
you also gonna hear lots of people trying to convince you to have the surgery they think are the best for you. you can lisen all they have to say, but at the end it has to be your choose, because your gonna be the one who is gonna have to live with it, so even if your dr pushes you to have any kinda surgery n you feel like is not the way you should go, look for an other opinion. you need to be 100% comited to your new tool

i went for my first consult with my surgeon when i was 18 and he was all for it! i didn't have it done until i was 20 but i think as long as you've tried other things that just won't work, no doctor will turn you away. they can't deny you if it's medically necessary and in just about all of our cases, it is

I am 23 and the only time my age got brought into the picture was when we we're talking about years added to my life by doing this at my age.. and how I'm going to be able to enjoy my life a million time more because of this surgery!!!

i've had different doctors tell me different things b4 and im to young for this but when i went to the seminar about the WLS and he told me that at my hight/weight/and bmi that i was in line for a stroke soon....he wasnt kidding ( was hospitalized that same night only a few hrs later for almost heart attack/stroke my heart was racing at 150 bpm) having your heart stopped and restarted isnt fun at 23 so as long as u have the research and you know this is what you want tell them nicely to **** off and they cant argue when u educate urself on the topic!
