HELLO ALL:

I am new here. I am having surgery in less than 2 weeks, and probably could not be more excited. I am 5'10 and weigh 306 pounds. So I would like to lose 150+. I would love to make some friends on here, and get as much advice as possible. I am 22 and havent seen my younger ladies in the support groups, so I am wondering WHERE YALL AT? lol. At any rate, add me, message me, I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of your stories. Also, if there are any tall ladies out there, I would love to see and hear about how surgery went for you. Everytime I tell someone I am having surgery their first two responses are 1. You're young! (implying I will bounce back quickly, lil to no sagging, quicker weight loss) 2. Your'e tall! (implying my body carries weight and distributes it well, so I should look great post op). Can anyone tell me IS THIS TRUE?

I'm a dude, but I got a rockin set of DD's that I'm going to need removed. I'm 22, and I lost almost your preop weight, and I will need plastics. Anyone who loses 50% of their body will need plastics. You cannot predict how much you will need.

Welcome and congrats on your decision to have WLS! I'm 23 and I got a lot of the " but you're so young!" So I stopped telling people. lol.

From what I hear we younger folk have more elasticity left in our skin so it bounces back a little better, but there are many factors (How long you've been overweight, genetics, smoking, age). Because you are taller, and your weight is well distributed, you will probably have less of a problem with skin.

Only time will tell!
