Second Thoughts....

So, ive been thinking about my surgery A LOT...and im starting to freak out...im really nervous about long term effects. Im not scared about changing my eating habits, or dumping, or dieing during surgery...im scared of what my health will be like when im 60..70..or even 80....WLS hasnt been around long enough to be able to watch young people who have it, grow old. Were supplememting a lot of our nutriounts with vitamins...What happens when our bodies change and cant absorb vitamins as well as they do know.....
I started to consider switching from RNY to lap band..but the idea of having a forgein object inside me kind of creeps me out...
I feel like i will never lose the amount of weight i want doing it on my own...but im so scared that i will regret having sugery...
Has anyone else ever felt this way??

My surgery is tomorrow and I feel a little like that too.  I think at some point you have to giev it over to God.  My thought is that I might not make it to 60, 70, or 80 without surgery.  My mom died at age 53 from complications from diabetes and high blood pressure caused from obesity.  She died when I was 18 after having 5 strokes.  I don't want to do that to my future children which I can't seem to have right now anyway because I am overweight.  So my solution is the Sleeve.  I don't regret my choice as of today, as I said tomorrow is my surgery but I am going to go into surgery with a clear understanding within myself as to why I am having it.  I hope this has helped you and I hope you find peace whatever you choose.  :)

If you do not want the permanent malabsorbtion that comes with the DS, then the VSG would be your next best option. You need your pyloric valve. Do not have your stomach bypassed.
