surgery or no surgery ((please read))

ugh so i have ran into a delay, I am almost done with my 6months required by my insurance i have until april 5 and thats my 6 month then my stuff can be submitted....((thats not the problem))

I just started a great job the end of february in what i have a degree in. I am on a 90day probation period of course so that will be up the end of may. My paid time off doesnt kick in until 6months which would be the end of august.

Im trying to decide if i can ask my surgeon to book my SURGERY for the end of august beggining of september so i will have my pto. DO THEY DO THAT OR CAN THEY??? then also if they cant i figured i will just do my surgery after my 90day probation is up which would be may 28 so shoot for a june surgery. My doctors said it depends on the insuracne and how long they will allow you to wing it out. regardless im getting it i just dont know when. I would love to WAIT UNTIL the 6 months IS OVER to get pto IN AUGUST but if not then atleast do my 90days so i wont get fired. I TOLD MY SUPERVISOR THAT I WAS GETTING THE SURGERY ON THE INTERVIEW BEFORE I GOT HIRED IN SO I DONT THINK IT WILL BE A BIG DEAL BUT YA NEVER KNOW.....

ANY SUGGESTIONS GUYS

 I wonder if you bring it up to her again what she would say. Would u have to take paid time off? also talk to your surgeon and see how long he would think youd be out of work. Ive seen that people with "desk" jobs only took about a week off.

Its there. It seems like OH has a HUGE delay sometimes!

Well surgery can be put out for months (i know that from thr medical field) so if you need to make plans in august you can.

As for your FMLA and a LOA will go check with HR if it is like my job they will stick to the rules and you will just have to wait for it. MAYBE your boss can also speak to HR on your behalf and get the okay to get you the FMLA and LOA  before the time needed. Just talk to them let them know whats going on .

i would recommend asking your supervisor how long it takes fmla to kick in at your job. at my job, i didn't qualify for fmla until i was with the company for one year and honestly, it's coming in handy because i've had to miss a few days even after i was cleared for work because i haven't felt too hot and they can't hold it against me because i'm covered on fmla. also, see if your job offers some kind of short term disability that will pay you while you're off if you don't have pto!
