Question
So I am in the process of going through the program for surgery, and I was just curious how many people in there 20's had really bad extra skin after they lost the weight or if because we are younger we may not get it as bad (if that makes any sense)
I hope I am not coming off being vain, I kind of just want to know what to expect.
Thank you in advanced.

i think it will not be as bad. are you young or old 20's?
i lost 70 lbs when i was 19 and my skin was saggy but it didn't look saggy unless i bent over in a bikini, but it kept firming up slowly, hopefully it will be the same this time around. if you exercise more your skin will firm up faster, also

i'm down almost 70 pounds and the only spots that look bad so far is my arms and inner thighs. my boobs seem to go through spurts where they are saggy and then normal, same with my stomach. i guess it just depends how the weight is settling at that point. i'm only a little over halfway to goal (and 4 1/2 months out) so we'll see where i end up
Thank you guys for your reply.
I am 26 and I am kind of aiming to lose around 100-105 lbs. I am trying to have the RNY done around June/July, if not sooner.
I seen a video diaries on extra skin yesterday and I couldn't get it out of my mind if that was normal or if that was just in certain cases.
Thank you guys again!!

Genetics is the only thing that truely plays a part in your skin, aka the elasticity of your skin. The exercise thing is a myth. When you exercise you work muscle which in turn grow which fills in some skin. You don't tone your skin, you tone muscles.
If your more an all over weight carriage, chances are it will not be too bad. But your body grew that extra skin, its not just going to go away. So if you have problem areas like if you carry it in your stomach, butt or thighs thats were your going to have to expect sagging loose skin.
Age really doesn't play a huge factor in all of this. I had surgery in my early 20's now in my late. My arms, lower legs, face, neck and bust all turned out good. Thighs arent fabulous, but dont warrant plastics because that is one of the most painful procedures (I'll pass). They still look way better than many folks legs. My gut, where most of my weight was truly carried, I've already had 9.8lbs of skin removed from it and still need more removed from the trunk of my body.
Its just the reality of WLS. Some folks get seriously lucky, but a majority don't no matter the age.

Well I can tell you my experience! I will be 26 next month! I had RNY a little over a year ago, and have lost over 100 pounds! (Not sure on the exact #) AND I DO HAVE LOTS OF LOOSE SKIN!!!! BUT I started out very heavy, and have been heavy all my life! ( I also have a 3 year old, whome I lost 80 pounds before I got preggo, and gained it all back after!)
But everybody is different! I do work out 4 or 5 days a week, and I do notice some firming up, but I am still going to need Plastics very soon! (My dr wants me to wait atleast another 6 months or so, before I have any plastics)
I hope this helps, and just remember that every person is different, and I wish you the best of luck on your weigh loss adventure!!!
