Newbie with a date!

Hi guys!

I've been on the PA boards a couple times, but I mostly stick my hospital's web form. However! I'm an internet junkie and need things to do at work. ;D

I started my journey by visiting an info seminar in November, having my first meet with the surgeon in December, then starting all my pre-op clearances in January! I just got my date a few days ago and it's February 22nd! They anticipated late April! I just started a liquid diet so I could shed some more pounds before my final appointment next Friday.

I'm pumped, nervous and anxious as heck. I could use some buddies around my age. :D

i too went to my seminar in november and after getting all my tests and psych eval in scored a date (surgery in 5 days!!!!!!!)

i was lucky, my insurance basically pre-approved me since they changed their guidelines and i didn't have to do any supervised weight-loss with a doctor. i'm so happy i didn't have to wait... it does make me sad about the people here who are/have waited/waiting.

I finished all my pre-op testing last Monday and was expecting it to take weeks to get all the paperwork faxed and to the right people, so I thought March would be the earliest for a date.  Then Tuesday (2/1) they called to schedule the surgery for this Friday 2/11/11, so I had to start the liquid protein diet that day.  I've been waiting for this day to come and now all of a sudden its here and I'm freaking out a bit.

How's the liquid diet going for you?

the first 4 days are tough, after that it's easy! just remind yourself it will get easier these first few days.
