newbie!
hey there! while my profile says i've been a member since 2008, i'm actually quite new to this site. i created my profile when i first began considering WLS and i've kind of reactivated it now that i'm actually scheduled for the surgery. i've just started my pre-op diet and i'm going a little crazy. i definitely am missing food though i'm constantly reminding myself that it's going to be sooo worth it.

i'm kinda new here too, this is my first post, but i've been reading alot.
i'm scheduled for surgery on 2/8/11, and i can't wait. i've been on my pre-op diet too, have been for 3 weeks now. it sucks, and i constantly want to cheat, but i didn't and in the first week i lost 15 pounds. i'm doing medifast, how about you? i have 5 more weeks to lose 22 pounds, i hope i can do it..

i'm doing opti fast and i have to lose 17 lbs in two weeks! it's a purely liquid diet and i'm a big fan of savory foods so the fact that i'm only allowed to have these chocolate shakes, sugar free jello, crystal light and water is driving me crazy! i keep telling my aunt that all i want in the world right now is a sandwich. that's so great that you lost so much in the first week, though! that gives me hope that i'll lose what i need to in the next couple of weeks
i'm sure you can..the key is keeping busy. i'm on break from school right now, so i constantly have to find things to do to keep me from the kitchen.
optifast sounds interesting, with medifast i can't drink anything bu****er, black coffee or black tea. no sweeteners allowed!

thankfully, i work 11am until 8pm so i don't have to worry TOO much about keeping busy and i've made sure everyone at my job is watching me so that i don't cheat.
i can't even have coffee or tea! i'm just drinking a whole lot of water and chewing sugar free gum to resist temptation!
and i think i may just do that, i definitely need someone to commiserate with because i'm only on day 1 and i'm having a tough time at it.
