Plastic Surgery Update
Well, I'm alive! The first two days of my lower-body lift were HELL, I couldn't even feel my arms (and basically never do, they don't hurt AT ALL). All in all the surgeon took over 9 pounds of excess tissue and re-corseted my abs that had separated a good 3 inches. He had me up and walking the morning after surgery every two hours. I woke up with a cathiter, 4 drains, and a pain pump (used to distribute numbing medicine to my abs), but the cath came out the following morning and the pain pump came out today. I stayed in the hospital for 3 nights (even though we only originally discussed 2, I decided an extra night of observation would be good for me). My best piece of advice would be to EXERCISE A LOT before surgery, it seriously makes a world of difference. Your endurance will be better and leg strength will be your saving grace. Also, drink lots of water and prepare for pain- DON'T OVER DO IT! Any questions feel free to ask and I'll update with pictures as soon as I can. LOVE YALL!
Thank you so much!! Pregnancy is one way ab's can separate, but also extreme obesity. You store fat behind your muscles and when it builds up it pushes them apart. When you lose the weight, the fat disappears, but the muscles remain separated. This can make you appear bigger than you are and in some cases cause hernias. Whenever you have a tummy tuck or a lower body lift they cut your muscles and then weave them back together or "re-corset" them. That is where the pain comes from, the muscles healing, not the skin removal. Hope that helps! :)
