Confused!

I'm sure the feelings I'm having are typical of any wls patient. Somedays their worse than others.
The day I got home from surgery I was 277 and today I'm 227. That's 50 lbs lost in the past 8 weeks. I'm working out 6-7 days a week 45 mins a day. I feel that even though I'm doing this that I'm not losing enough weight. Am I just being over critical with myself? Am I below the average for a RNY WLS patient?  Meal plans...... I was looking at them today, should I be concerned about the calories or the protein right now? Or both?
Ugh, I confuse myself! Somedays I feel great, but other days it sucks! All I think about these days is my weight, and I thought these thoughts would go away after surgery! Lol, I Know  a misconception, but still its stressful sometimes!

I think we all get a little obsessive about the numbers at first.  A patient weighing between 250-300 pounds is expected to lose about 80 pounds in the first year (on average). You have already lost 50 pounds in 2 months. You are doing awesome!

oh girl, you are being too hard on yourself. i was down 50 lbs 2 months out too, you are doing incredible.
it slows down as you get farther out though so dont sweat over how far you are all the time. i was down 100lbs in 6 months, you are working out and everything you will have no problem getting there either.

p.s. your avitar is so cute! :P

hihi,
everything you are feeling is normal girl, dont worry ! we have all been thru everything your describing feeling :)

i was told to not focus on calories for a tleast a year! just focus on getting all that protein in, cause thats most important during this first year of the rapid weight loss phase.

good job on the working out! ! what kind of exercise are you doing? make sure your not over doing it cause that could stall things sometimes also.. i think alot of my success was from consistant working out, and it helps tons with the excess skin worry we all have at the beginning of everything!

good luck and feel free to ask away with questions, i love talking about wls!

Can i say this with a grain of salt but your doing wonderful.Lol  You need not worry about the fact that it may seem like it is coming off slowly or why is it taking so long to loose, you just need to consider that  you are loosing and that is a compliment in itself. Maybe you need to cut back on some things or that maybe your body is becoming more muscular.Lol But really are you getting enough protein in are you cutting out the sugars counting your calories, things like that? What is your somewhat routine meals like? Let's see if we can come to some sort of way to help yu out that's what we are here for. I care and i'm sure you do too. Luv ya girl keep up the hard fight.
