too poor for a gym membership...

I wanted to get some feedback on what those, without gym memberships, do for exercise?

I was a member of the Y back home, I miss it a lot, but I can't afford a gym membership right now.  I am jogging outside, but I am new to Boston, and don't think I will be continuing the jogging once it gets too cold.

And so I am looking to order some dvds that will make me sweat!

I have the Biggest Loser Bootcamp DVD, and it is good for me, but I am getting bored, and want another option...

Anyone one else poor like me and have to workout on their own and with a dvd?

The Y does offer a financial aid program for those with low income. Have you thought about asking them for the form to fill out? My mom pays 6 dollars a month for her y membership.

hihi!

i highly suggest- leslie sansones "walk away the pounds"..

i just looked it up on amazon and its like 9 bucks (they also have it in target!). you can walk up to 5 miles in your own living room!! i used this on days i didnt feel like going to the gym or when it was cold outside.. (more times then id like to admit it saved my butt on days i didnt feel like leaving the apartment but knew i had to do something!) hahah

anyways, also ive used the fitness on demand videos on cable. theres a variety of work outs on there! the yogas awesome!

good luck!

I like to use home videos...I have done Turbo Jam and my sister did the Biggest Loser workout video...They both are great for cardio workouts. I also use You Tube for strengthening workouts like inner thigh and arm sculpting.

If you like to dance Zumba is a lot of fun, maybe your local library has it.  If you have a Wii they are coming out with a Wii Zumba tomorrow.  I hope you get the Y discounted program, I use to do that.  It's hard to shell out $45 buck for a gym membership.  My husband is in the Air Force and our base has a free gym that is great and my friends keep trying to get me to go to the Y but it an extra 45 buck a month and 30mins from my house, I would never go.  Good luck I hope you find something you like.

Hey hun I actually just posted on my blog an 'at home' work out that I do when I don't have time to get to the gym - you might like to try it out? It'd work really well with your jogging
