Hey all,

I've been lurking a bit but decided to post here. I'm currently 20 and I'm having the DS on September 10th. Only 2 days left! Any helpful hints and suggestions?

Hey Matthew, welcome to the board!

Congrats on your surgery tomorrow, you'll do great!   Hints and suggestions...hm, well at this point I'd just say try to relax and stay positive.  I don't know if you are a religious person but at the point where you are, I just decided to give it all to God.  That helped me a lot with the worry and anxiety.  It's still been a bumpy road for me but it's never been a decision I've regretted.

For recovery, just take it easy and don't try to do too much too soon.  Get up and walk as much as you can right away and as soon as your are able, start a regular exercise routine.

Let us know how your surgery goes!

That's pretty much what I've done. I've prepared all I can for it and what happens happens after this =)

Thanks for the advice and I will keep everyone updated!

As a 5 year post DSr....just relax and enjoy the ride.

Don't over think things. Guys usually do fantastic with the DS, as its a meat lovers dream, lol.

Haha, that's partially why I chose the DS....I like my steaks and cheeseburgers!

Thanks for the advice :)

I can pass on the burgers, for some reason ground beef just doesn't sit well even this far out. I never was much a burger eater anyway. But don't forget for quite sometime you should just eat the patty anyway.

I LOVE STEAK. So yup the DS was a top choice for that. Except I still get sad when I get full and still see part of a perfectly done medium rare steak sitting there. Oh well snack for later, LOL.
