I've seen this board a couple of times but never posted.  My name is Josh I'm 26 and had RNY 1/21/20.  I like this site and all but I do feel that most of the other boads' population is certainly older and are at a different viewpoint/life perspective than me.  So I may be poking around here a little more often, as my "somewhat supportive" support system has pretty much feel apart, too much to discuss in this intro.

So anyway, Hi, and hopefully I can bring something interesting with my opinions or experience so far, or something like that.

Hi Josh,

While I know that WLS is different for us. Its fine to chat with us about issues, but I can not STRESS enough to keep in touch with farther out sucessful post-ops that are not your age. As usually their information is extremely helpful. In most cases they will know better.

I'm 5 years post-op and I value the "friendships" I have online with "elders" as they have helped tremendously even this far out.

Thanks to all that have replied.  I do value the insight of "elder" farther out post ops, but I feel the social pressures and situations they find themselves in to be a little different.

Sorry I haven't posted sooner dealing with A LOT of issues resulting from my soontobeX up and leaving me last week.

I'll be around more when this settles a bit.

Josh,

Sorry to hear about what has been going on.

Yes our social pressures and situations are alot different. Which is where conversing with "our" age people helps alot.

Hope things calm sooner than later for you.
