just silly--lying about how much weight you've lost--??
Wow, so I totally did this yesterday! I was hanging out with one of my friends from school who knows about my WLS. I have seen her once this summer, for my birthday in July. Before that, she had seen me at ~270 lbs at school. Well she was telling me how good I looked, then she continued and commented, "how much have you lost, like 30, 35 lbs?"
From my pre surgery weight i'm down 50 lbs. From when she saw me on a daily basis, I'm down 60 lbs.
So anyways, I just said, "Yeah, around 40.."
What is wrong with me! It's like I'm embarrassed to admit I've lost 60 lbs and STILL look like this. ew.
Then I have friends who either haven't noticed at all or are too embarrassed (for me or for them) to point it out. Let's hope at some point it will be an unavoidable subject.
XOXO let me know your experiences/ thoughts!

well first of all you look fabulous so who cares how much you lost!!
second: I know what you mean when you lie about how much you've lost! 60 pounds is a lot, no one wants to admit that they had 60 pounds to lose in the first place, let alone that they still have more to lose. So i hear ya loud and clear.
Good luck with the rest of it!

I understand where your coming from. It is exactly like what Shannon said. No one ever wants to admit that they had so much to lose, and still need to get rid of more. I've lost 118lbs, and still want to lose at least another 42lbs. Its really hard to explain that to someone. Message me for my Instagram/Facebook/Twitter details.

I have lied about how much I WANT to lose because that would mean that they would know I was over 300 lbs ;( Hopefully someday I will feel confident enough in my weight LOSS that I wont care about how much I weighed before

I am still not very confident in my skin and once in a while have trouble seeing it but I know numbers dont lie, or atleast I hope not lol I always tell my friends how much I have lost because they are always right there keeping up to date with me.

I did the opposite today. My roommate has a kind of rude friend who came over and asked me if I "noticed any difference at all yet." I answered, "yes, I've lost almost forty lbs so it's a huge difference!" Ok, it's not a huge lie, but I kind of felt like I had to justify my choice to have surgery, and the work I've been doing
