9 mos. out, 119 lbs gone! *pics* :D
Hey everyone! Long time no see. Somehow it's already been 9 months since my laparascopic RNY! I come bearing a comparison/progress photo I put together. The 'before' photo on the left was taken 8 months before surgery... By then, I hadn't even met my surgeon, though I had attended a seminar for the surgery a couple of weeks prior.
I was not at my highest weight in that photo, either. I think I gained another fifteen to twenty pounds.
It's been an interesting journey so far. I only have 32 pounds to go and I'm feeling healthy and vibrant. I haven't had any trouble with vitamins and I tolerate most foods, even red meat and sweets. There's something about cookies, though--they tend to give me some trouble!
I haven't been working as hard to be dependable with my exercise, so I'm experiencing looseness in my upper arms and around my inner thighs. The skin on my stomach is bouncing back into place without problems, though. Once I establish a gym routine (I'm promising myself this is the week!), I expect to tone up to my liking over the next few months without the need for plastic surgery.
Anyway, I'd love to hear from you guys about your post-op experiences so far. Also, I'll be glad to answer any pre-op questions as best I can. :D Take care and keep up the great work, guys!
Thanks, everyone! Yeah, I'm not quite sure why I'm a complete three or four shades lighter in the most recent photo... could be lighting and the fact that both were taken with two dramatically different cameras! Haha.
I admit I am having difficulty recognizing myself in the mirror these days. It can be really alarming and a bit unsettling, but I know it's altogether not a bad thing. This is just going to take some time to get used to. :)
