what do you wish someone had told you before you had the surgery?

I haven't had my surgery yet. I am scheduled for August 30. At my information session this is the question that the doctor asked to the patient who had the surgery who was speaking to us. Unfortinatly for me the patient who was suposed to show up that night didn't so he asked my mom to speak and she didn't have an answer to this question.

My mom and dad have both had the surgery so I have lots of expieriance around the diet and portions and stuff but will still have to see for myself.

By the way, I am having RNY bypass. What surgery did you have?

That calcium tastes horrible... That's about it.

I did lots of research on here, and was well prepared. Even so I had serious doubts and cold feet the night before until I counted down from 10 and passed out. But it was the best decision I have ever made!

1.- keeping the weight off is not as easy as everyone thinks. you have to work very hard.
2.- losing weight will make u more confident but it will not fix ur problems (lot of people have this wrong idea)
3.- be patient. at first it seams that ur not losing weight but then when u realized u have lost a bunch. so try to stay focus n calm the weight will come off.
4.- take lot of picture them will reminds you where you came from and where you dont wanna go back  too!
5.-enjoy every minute your gonna miss your honey moon stage.

good luck!
hugs.
