How do you deal with...
I have a list of advice needed, please help!
How do you deal with
1.) People who dont know about you surgery pointing out how little you eat.
2.) The question " oh my gosh youve lost so much weight how are you doing it?"
3.) Attention or different actions from people now that you are thinner.
4.) HAIR LOSS ugh!!!
Its late but these things have been on my mind for awhile. I know lots of people who surgeries like ours but they are all up in the 40s or so and I feel like sometimes they wouldnt truly understand what I was asking!

I am to a point now where I tell people...If they judge me then that is their problem and they weren't true friends. Although I haven't told my in laws cause they are judgmental. You could always say you are jus****ching your portions...that isn't a lie. :)
2.) The question " oh my gosh you've lost so much weight how are you doing it?"
In the beginning I told people that I drastically cut down what I was eating and started exercising...again not a lie. But now I have started telling people about it....and most have given me a good response. :)
3.) Attention or different actions from people now that you are thinner.
I don't know what your asking here....but I had a guy hit on me at Starbucks the other day and it freaked me out...cause I haven't been hit on in like 10 years ;)
4.) HAIR LOSS ugh!!!
The hair loss is making me CRAZY!!! my hair is everywhere!!!! but there isn't anything we can do about it, it will go away somewhere between month 4-6 is what most people tell me.
Good luck to you!! :)

Here's my answers to your questions :)
1.) People who dont know about you surgery pointing out how little you eat.
Well, I always told people about the surgery from the beginning and they could say what they wanted pretty much. Most people were good and didn't bring it up.
2.) The question " oh my gosh youve lost so much weight how are you doing it?"
As in question 1, I always had told people I had the surgery. Most people were supportive and encouraging. Of course, there's always the stray person here and there who won't be, but they don't matter. The ones who care will support what you did to better your health, life, and future, in my opinion.
3.) Attention or different actions from people now that you are thinner.
Well, yeah you do get noticed more when you lose weight~ I notice it even now. It made me mad sometimes at first because it's like "why couldn't you pay attention to me when I was 100+ lbs bigger... I am the SAME PERSON?!!?!!". Now I just take it all with a grain of salt.
4.) HAIR LOSS ugh!!!
Hair loss seems to come with the territory, but it IS very annoying. It seems to ease up around month 6-8, at least with me.

1.) people dont notice as offten as you may think. (now i'm 2.5 year out so i can eat normal portions) if they ask i'm really open with my surgery n the reason i eat so little.
you can just say ur not hungry or that ur on diet.. if that start bothering you just tell them to **** off lol.
2.) i always say I´m very careful with my food choises n i excercise oh yeah n i had WLS. I'm always honest cuz i know that people know about my surgery and i dont mind i actually like people asking.
3.)Ehhh i dont know... i think is the same. just more compliments. just smile and say thankyou :)
4.) nothing to do just get in all ur protein n wait till it grows back, it will.
I'm very open about having WLS. if you dont feel confortable sharing you dont have to, is your body and only you have right over ur own body. so do what you feel more confortable with n dont care about what people thinks
hugs!

Youre answers have been so helpful! I am not totally comfortable with telling just anyone about surgery. I'm not sure why that is, but I pick and choose who I tell. My family obviously knows and relatively close girl friends know but outside of that I just gauge people's vibes before I bring it up. My older brother was a 3 time state and 2 time national wrestler so he thinks himself to be the all knower of weight loss and exercise, we as a family unit havent told him bc I think he will judge me. We are only a year apart so he's been hard on me my whole life.
Ugh I'm so over the hair loss thing I'm affraid I'll go bald!! lol Irrational maybe...But you guys give me the confidence to embrace these changes and really consider letting more people in on these LIFE CHANGING decision I've made! Thanks so much friends!

Hey, I'm not too far out so I really can't answer your other questions, but I wanted to say something about your brother. My little brother is a Marine, so you know how into fitness and exercise he is. The boy literally runs miles, and then bikes miles a day. I wasn't really sure how he would react, either. He's been completely and utterly supportive of my decision, and I must say that I was very very surprised. I just wanted to share this with you :) Oh, and I totally feel you on the hair loss. I'm only a month out but mine's already falling out in heaps. :(
Hey! Granted this is a month past the time you posted this. My brother is also that way. He's in the military, lost over 100 plus lbs on his own, and thinks he's the all knower of weightloss. He's always been hard of me throughout my whole life, he's 3 years older than I am, and is obsessed with how much I weigh and what I look like. I didn't want to tell him. I was deathly scared. When we finally sat down and talked on the phone one day I had decided to tell him. I was deathly scared, I seriously felt like I was having an anxiety attack, and thought I was going to bawl! After it came out, he was stoked for me! The opposite reaction that I had expected. Granted he does throw in well once you have surgery eat this, do this, do that. My brother and I are close, even though he can be a megga jerk. Overall, I'm happy I told him.
I'm sorry this post is coming MONTHS after the discussion first began, but I can totally relate to people being judged by friends and family members. My mom and brother both had lap band surgery, but my boyfriend (we live together) is a... ready... PERSONAL TRAINER and has been an athlete his entire life. We actually met at the gym during one of my hundreds of attempts to lose weight. Now that I am thinking about having lap band, he cannot get behind it and its causing an issue in our relationship. He thinks all I have to do is "eat right and exercise" and the weight will shed. He has no idea how hard it is!!
Anyone that has these same problems - have any advice for me to try to get him on board? Thanks!

I agree with the other posters but I also wanted to add my reasoning for telling people about my surgery. The reason I tell everyone when asked is I want this form of weight loss to become more socially acceptable. We all know that having the surgery is not a quick fix but most people don't. When I tell someone about it, I feel as though I am lessening the stereotype and stigma surrounding weight loss surgery.
