I just found out....
OMG! I'm 3 and a half years post op and after years of trying to get pregnant and a looming diagnosis of PCOS....I'm PREGNANT! I've gotten to POSITIVE pregnancy tests and have been experiencing a lot of symptoms already. If my figures are correct I'm somewhere in the 4-6 weeks category. I started on the South Beach Diet on May 24th. I was due to start my birth control pills after 3 months of no period (which is normal...I take bc every 3 months just to induce my period). I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. So, I started taking my pills. Well, my pills were done last Sunday and I went all week without even a symptom of AF. So, Monday I decided it was test time or something may be wrong. To my shock- it was POSITIVE! So I waited and took another test first thing in the morning Tuesday. Again- POSITIVE! I go next Wednesday for my first appointment.
2 questions...did anyone test and retest and retest again?? I've gotten the 2 positives and almost everyone has reassured me that 2 positives don't happen often. I'm going to buy another test this weekend...in fact a digital one...and see if I get another positive result. I'm trying to be excited, but I have this gloomy feeling like someone is going to yank the rug out from under me.
do any post ops have some good advice on vitamins and nutrition?? I'm doing a lot of research, but who better to ask then people who have been there like myself.
Thanks so much!!

Congrats!!!! I just found out that I am pregnant also, I am eight weeks!! I have PCOS, and after all the weighloss WALA! I also took three tests and then bought the digital and believed that i was pregnant when i read the word pregnant!! I have been taking a multivitamin that has iron and folic acid, my surgeon told me to double up on that till i got my prenatals. My obgyn told me that i can continue to take my multi vitamin 2x day till my second trimester. Hope that was some help... and again CONGRATS!!!!
False positives are very rare, false negatives are more common, so....CONGRATS!! I didn't believe it when I was pregnant, the only thing that felt different was that my boobs got huge and hurt like nothing else, otherwise it was like any other day. Wait until the baby starts to kick, it's unreal!
Again, congrats!

I went on a binge shopping spree yesterday buying everything I've read is good for the baby :) I've been a slacker in that I stopped taking my vitamins over a year ago...I guess I just got comfortable and stopped. Now, it's Flinstones vitamins til my first appointment. It just goes to show that miracles do happen and I guess if it's meant to be...it's meant to be!!!
