What do you drink when out at night?
Hello All! I haven't had any alcohol since my surgery and am waiting a while yet but I have no idea what someone who's had RNY can have. Sugary stuff makes me sick so that takes out wine, we're not supposed to have carbonation, so that takes out beer and mixers... seriously what is left? I keep having friends ask me to go out but I don't go since I only ge****er and have no idea what I could even drink...
Thanks!
Thanks!
MY DOC SAID I CAN HAVE WINE

I will have a cranberry and vodka. I do drink wine ~ there is a brand called Slender that has a sugar substitute in place of real sugar. I will sometimes have a Mike's Light (also made with splenda) and put it over ice and wait until the carbonation flattens out a bit.
The biggest thing more so than worrying about carbonation, sugar, etc, is the excess calorie consumption you get from alcohol. Each drink is going to have at minimum around 100 calories and they add up very quickly...so be careful! And as always, drink responsibly. It doesn't take much at all so if you haven't drank anything yet, I would only start with one drink and see how it affects you.
