Hello all
I figured I would introduce myself and say hello.
My name is Thomas Zakrzewski, I am 22 and just had the lap band surgery on 4/21/2010. I have always struggled with my weight my entire life. At the lowest point in my life, highest weight, I was around 405 Lbs. I knew I had to do something if I want to get my goal of becoming a police officer like my father, and grandfather before hand.
This past winter I began my process and by March I had a date set up. I was so scared. Tomorrow marks the 10th week from my surgery date. I can not wait to go in tomorrow to get weighed in. Last time I was weighed in I was 55 Lbs down in 8 weeks. I have been at the track every day walking and jogging and I am starting to feel good about myself and where I have come from. The best part is that since my surgery my type 2 diabetes has been fully under control with out medication!!! I still have my moments of being scared and overwhelmed, but who hasn't from talking to others.
I am excited to have found this board and even people in my own age group.
