Anyone in their 20's had LapBand Surgery?
Thanks for the message! I'm feeling okay. The shoulder pain that I had is now gone. I do have some pain in my upper abdomen on the left side, which is kinda strange as the port is on the right side. I haven't really been hungry yet, so that's good. I go for my post-op check up next Tuesday and my first fill on July 13th.
How are you enjoying life with your new LapBand since surgery in February?

The pain could be the from another one of your incisions or more gas pains. My abdomen was pretty sore for a few weeks, especially when I bent down or stretched out too much. Just make sure that you are getting enough liquid. I stayed with my parents for the week after surgery, and my mom kept a schedule of the liquids I had. She was serious about it, no matter how much I didn't want to drink anything she made me. Also when you do start adding food into your diet just make sure to measure it. I know it's a pain but it will help you with portion control in the long run.
My life with the band is pretty good, sometimes it's difficult to be around people who can eat whatever they want. I'm in grad school, and we are in our student work room for hours at a time, people bring in snacks and sugary sweets to share. I'm really working on trying to resist them, but it's pretty difficult.
I also need to get back to measuring out my meals. If you have anymore questions let me know I'll be here for you

Hey there!
I'm 29 and had lapband when I was 28.
I had lapband surgery last June 12. I am soooooooo happy with my band and thank God everyday that I had it done. There are some days that are harder then others. But I know that I wouldn't have been able to lose 90lbs on my own. I still have some work to do but very happy with my progress. Good luck on your journey and remember you will have some bad days but this is not a race and don't get discouraged.

I am 29 and I am scheduled to have surgery on July 19th. I am on day three of the pre-op diet and it is very difficult. It's not the amount that I am struggling with, I'm actually over the initial stage of wanting to eat my own arm, but it is the taste of the diet. My surgeon has me on medifast and it tastes just disgusting. I have found that I am only eating 4 "mini-meals" aday instead of the recommended six because I would rather be hungry than face the taste of this stuff. Have any of you experienced this??
I had the band when I was 20!
