So my roommate it wanting to set me up with her boyfriends friend...dunno how I feel about this. BUUUUUT he asked me to friends on facebook and the first thing I thought was that there are old fat pictures on there. Has anybody else ever thought about deleting their old pics or what did you do about that? For me I dont like to look back at it, it upsets me that I let myself do that and even worse be okay with it. That is a whole other set of personal issued tho lol Just basically Im askin what you did about old facebook pics and maybe like how you approach new relationships with people that dont know the "old" us? Make since?
To update however, I'm down to 184 so Ive lost 52 lbs and that puts me past half way to goal!! i'm needing to get in the gym and tone, and my boobs are worthless to me know lol but I'm happier than Ive ever been and thankful for such a life changing opportunity!

I do know what you are talking about. I was just looking at my facebook thinking...Should I delete these old pictures? But then I am happy at how far I have come...so I think its part of who we are. Its important to remember where we came from so we dont go back. Good luck to you

i say delete them!  it's good for you to know where ya came from, but don't let those old fat pictures be your ball and chain!  you are a new woman now and never going back to the past.  be proud of yourself, and if this guy thing works out, then you can share your journey and tell him about your wls.  don't define yourself by who you used to be, define yourself by the beautiful woman you are today girl!!  you have a new life now and a new look ... although those fat pics are a reminder, they don't have to be a reminder for the public!

I probably won't delete most of mine, mostly because almost every picture of me has someone else in it too (usually my hubby or other family/ close friends). What I do plan on doing is creating an album and calling it something like "Old Me" or "Before Surgery" and dumping them into there, that way when people do look at my pics, they can distinguish between what I look like now and what I was then.

Another suggestion, since you are concerned about this new relationship, is to change the privacy settings to where no one can see the albums except you, until you are ready to reveal that side of you to someone new.  I understand what you are going through. I haven't "announced" on my FB yet about my plans for surgery, although a few of my close friends know and I have asked them not to pubicly comment about it on my wall. I am just not ready for everyone I grew up with as well as extended family & coworkers to know yet.

this is exactly what I did! I agree with the others that say, don't forget where you came from but you don't have to make sure the rest of the world doesn't forget! Enjoy the new you, and if this guy sticks around then I am sure you will share your journey with him. Unfortunately, I think we've all been judged enough by our size..no reason to carry that into our future.

I keep my pictures because it is the best reminder for myself of what I NEVER/ REFUSE to go back to

I kept mine and you know why?

Because I've just honestly been to lazy to delete them!  Also, I had my son when I was bigger and those pictures are special to me regardless of what I looked like.

It's really whatever you want to do.  Delete them, don't delete them.  He'll eventually see pictures of you before anyway but it's up to you to decide when.

Good luck!
