New here! Exercising post surgery
Hi, I'm Jess, 24, and in the process of going through the steps to have surgery.
With losing weight do you find it easier and more exciting to work because you're seeing results? Or is it still difficult to find the motivation to work out? That is one of my biggest fears afterwards. I plan on rejoining my gym which im excited about I just am concerned with that aspect of it.

I have found it much easier to work out after all the weight has come off. I have way more endurance and can work out easily for 90+ minute sessions. I've always enjoyed exercising, even pre-op but I've built up now to a point where I feel like I can try most any activity. I regularly go to spinning class, kick boxing, floor aerobics/step and conditioning classes...I've also done Zumba, which was really fun. I am now in the throws of training to become a spinning instructor and eventually to become certified to teach all group fitness. That has been so motivating for me and I know it will keep me on track!
I think everyone has their days of just not wanting to workout but that's ok. Sometimes we can over train and it's our body's way of just telling us we need a break. I love going to the gym but some don't and that's ok...it's all about just finding an activity that you enjoy, sticking with it and always making it challenging. If you like walking, try hiking...if you like biking, maybe try a spinning class...there's always a new spin on every activity that you can try.
Good luck to you and don't be afraid to try something new..you might end up loving it!

In the first few months its rocky. You'll exercise and lose really fast and other time**** a stall and be discouraged. Keep with it! I'm at over 2 years out and stuck in the 160's but i've also been lazy. Quit diet soda and am drinking more water and want to get back to the gym this week to drop off the last 20.
