topomax pain

so my doctor put me on tomomax for migraines and it has messed up my stomach really bad. drinking and eating hurts so much. they took me off it after i ended up in the ER last night. but now they have me on pain pills and anti nausea pills to I'm not puking.. i was wondering if anyone has had issues with any meds after surgery. and if so how long until your stomach calmed down and what did you eat? my surgeon put me on clear liquids for 24 hours. then said to start from the basics.. well its been so long i cant remember what works best in the beginning anymore. i had  RNY.even sipping liquids hurts so i have to have warm liquids.and even then the thought of it makes me sick.any help would be great!
