Hey All! New Here!

Hello,
My name is Allie I'm 24 and live in Maryland. I occasionally post on the main RNY board, but would love to have some insight from people my own age. I actually just got a date today- June 21st. I'm really excited, but I'm not sure it's had time to sink in yet! I'm an RN and work 12 hour nights. Coping with my strange schedule is one of my biggest fears. Any words of wisdom would be well appreciated!

Hey Allie,
Welcome to the site...I work late shifts in the ER...I think it will be the most challenging thing....I just had my surgery last week so unfortunately I cannot offer too much insight yet...congrats on the surgery date and all I can say is do everything your doctor says and everything will go smoothly...like I said I am 9 days out and i really can't complain, except for the occassional discomfort, i am doing pretty good, and I am going back to work next week...Good Luck and keep us posted!

 Welcome to the board! I am going on 7 months out and I work midnight shifts also. The most difficult part I have found is balancing my time for work/sleep/& Exercise. If you can find the balance and follow your doctors instructions you will do great!

i'm mariana 25 years old n 2 years out of RNY.
if your used to have this schedule, you should not have any problem adjustin to your new life, i`m sure you`ll do just fine!. ur just gonna need to find the time to excercise!

Hey Allie! Where in MD are you? It's nice to see another younger person on here from my area!

Just outside of Bel Air. I know how you feel. The first words out of my surgeon's mouth were, "you're very young." And of course I was like, "haha, no really?" I'm glad to be doing this now instead of when I'm 30 or 40. I feel like I've missed enough of my life already!
