First off, I have a horrible time keeping up with Forums, I am sort of shy and never feel that I fit in well, but Im odd that way.
I am still fairly new to this path, but, I go to the WMC almost weekly right now, and according to them I am the "Ideal" Candidate for surgery, I have no medical issues, my heart is good, my lungs are good, nothing of concern (Well except my weight, and my sciatica). Though the waiting list is a year and a half long.
The wait time is a long one, and but I think one that is worth it! I am excited, scare and nervous about it all.
I took awhile to tell my dad about it, his response was a little silly "Well its a good thing you are doing it, if you don't, you'll be dead before you're 45" But my mom has been going to the appointments with me and is being very supportive, as is my fiance.
Unfortunately no surgery before the big day, but I think thats ok, wont it be fun to have my wedding pictures, and then ones after with my wedding dress falling! ahah.
Anyway, just sort of thought I would try to jump back in and see if I can find a little second home.

Hi Ashley! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! Don't worry, I got married 5 years ago and I was heavy then so it's really no big deal. It didn't make me enjoy the day any less or make it less special (and yes, I can't fit into my dress anymore either..lol).
Good luck with your surgery process, it can be long and hard but you'll get there. I'm glad to hear that you have a supportive fiance and parents, that makes things easier.
