WLS Type: RNY
Surgery Date: 12/02/09
Describe what it's been like so far in 1 sentence:  Well, on my good days I feel almost euphoric, but overall I would say that it's been rewarding to see a payoff for eating right and working hard.
Any regrets:  Not since I left the hospital...the aching back and nausea when I came out of anesthesia were awful!
Best moment in post-op life:  When people look at me funny and ask if I changed my hair (it WAS blond for a long time, but I changed that about a year before surgery)...I don't know whether they're trying to be polite or what, but it's pretty funny.
Goal weight:  My goal weight is 135, but my doctor puts it at 156..we'll see whose closest in the end.
Biggest non-scale goal:  How about 2?  1) to have those little muscle creases in my arms and thighs (think Michelle Obama arms) and to 2) to be a competitive adult figure skater again.

 WLS Type: RNY

Surgery Date: 12/8/08

Describe what it's been like so far in 1 sentence: It's been the hardest, most rewarding choice I've ever made for myself....I feel like I have the life I  was always meant to.

Any regrets:  About surgery?  Never

Best moment in post-op life: Realizing that not only have I lost the equivalent of a middle school kid but to know that others look to me and my journey as a source of inspiration.

Goal weight: 135 but now I'd like to get to 125.  I won't kill myself to get there but I'd be nice to see that number..

Biggest non-scale goal:  Start running 5K and 10K races this summer.  I am diagnosed with IT band syndrome but I'm going to physical therapy for it, so hopefully it will heal up soon.   Also to start doing more serious weight lifting.
