Just a quick public opinion poll!

What brand of protein shake do you prefer?

Flavor?

Where do you get the good deals from online or local store?

The only protein drink I have tried so far is Oh Yeah! I got the cookies and cream flavor. I wasn't impressed but it was still good. I would give it a B-. I bought some chocolate flavor Unjury packets but I haven't tired them yet.

Syntrax Nectars in Fuzzy Navel and Cappacino are the best! not gritty at all and they have a lot of flavors. Cherry one is good too as well as orange cream.
I buy them online

Do the special K protein drinks not have enough protein? Cause thats what I'm supposed to drink for my pr-op diet, either that or slim fast high protein.... i figured they would be good for after as well?

i'm pretty sure both are fairly high on sugar, so depending on what type of surgery you have you may dump on them.

as for finding protein shakes i like, i went on vitalady and ordered like $40 worth of samples, and have been going through them, trying different ones and saving the labels of the ones i've liked so i know what i want to try again/buy a whole thing of. so far i'm leaning towards chocolate and peanut butter ones, and honestly, i've liked most of the ones i've tried. it really is different for everyone.

I think the Special K ones only have like 8-10 grams of protein, which is certainly not enough for the amount of calories they contain. Especially if you have RNY. Slim Fast isnt terrible if you get the low carb one, the sugar isnt too bad, but really you need to be looking for something with at least 20 grams of protein.

So far, I really like Believe brand RTD protein (all the flavors are good), because they taste just like the Starbucks Fraps in the glass bottle. I also love the Extreme Smoothie RTD as well. I get both of them from bariatriceating.com

I am just now venturing out and trying powdered protein because I thought they all tasted terrible right after my surgery. Now my taste has settled back down and I can tolerate a lot more.
