got my date got my date
Congrats!
Time off depends. Some people are good after a few days others it takes longer. For me personally, I didn't start to feel like myself for about 2 weeks and then I was back to before in about a month. I would at least take a week off, not only to recover (you are having major surgery, remember!) but to get the eating/drinking process down. It also depends on what you do for a living. If you are standing all day long, you'll need more time off (I couldn't even stand up straight for about 3 day)...if you sit at a desk, you could be fine after a week or a few days. I know everyone hates to talk about it but if a complication were to arise, you' want to plan in advance for that or at least talk to your employer about what will happen if that were to occur. Probably not, but I like to be prepared.
I'm always liberal about recovery time since I now have 5 surgeries under my belt and have lived and learned. Don't be in a rush to recover too quickly, the body needs time to heal and too much too soon can have bad results.
Good luck!
