Spanx
I haven't worn Spanx but I have worn Assets pantyhose from Target and they were pretty good, considering I never wear pantyhose, ever.
I have friends who swear by Spanx but I can imagine that the Assets are about the same (they are made by the same company, I think). Bring your outfit with you when you try on the Spanx so you can judge for yourself if they make you look better.
Good luck!

Assets is made by Spanx, just a cheaper version... they work well IMO... Ive also used the fruit of the loom brand, found them at Kohls and sometimes see them at marshalls/tjmaxx... I dont wear them all the time so I am not sure if one is better than other for long term wear/use but they have worked for me on those special nights out etc.

I love my Spanx. Honestly, I don't think the Assets seem to do the same. And I like the name.
I wore Spanx for my wedding. For your wedding day, the crotchless version is SO convenient. It makes it so much easier to pee without having to disrobe everything. And make sure to get the ones WITHOUT the front seam. I didn't know it until I was looking through my pictures, but you could SEE the central ribbing seam that runs up the center of the ones I have. No one really noticed it, BUT I did!!!

I've been wearing mens performance wear shirts under my shirts. Size small. It makes a big difference. I'm a guy so I want the flab of my chest to be flattened out but still. They do make spanx for men but its way too expensive. Just go to walmart and pick up the performance wear shirts that are a couple of sizes too small, it does the same exact thing and they are only $5.
