So last saturday i decided to run a 5k this upcoming saturday. I havent ran in months and i only left myself 1 week to prepare for the race. Now this is something that i could NEVER do b4 surgery. It still amazes me the things i can do, even after being more than 4 years out. There was no way i could run a 5k after months of prepping at 462lbs, nvm in one week. I'm not going to be breaking any records this week but i will be ready to run the entire race. Well just wanted to share with u all my excitement. Wish me luck!!

Good luck Josh!!  Im excited for you.  You should have someone take a pic of you running the race  and then send it into the OH magazine. Their looking for pictures like that right now.  Oh and I feel the same way, about how you amaze yourself everyday with things you could never do before the surgery.  I love running, and right now Im running 3 miles in less than 40 minutes, which is a big deal for me.  I could never EVER do that before.  I would walk and be huffing and puffing...lol...I can only imagine though at 462lbs...what a major accomplishment!!

i did it in about 32 minutes. my goal was to be closer to 30 minutes, but after a week of training, i should be glad i finished at all. It felt good, btw, the race was in the cold and poruing rain, quite the experience.
