I am going for my consult today... hope to have surgery in the next couple of months. I am going back and forth between lap band and the gastric sleeve. i am 5'6'' and 240 lbs. anyone have suggestions/personal stories?
i'm also nervous about life after the surgery. i've always been the fat girl- how did you all adjust?
i want to be thin by my 30th bday- 11 months away!!

Welcome!!!
I can tell you from my short experience here, is that I had my RNY gastric Bypass 4 weeks ago! and I love it. I would do it all over again if I had to! I have lost 60+ pounds since I started my whole process, and almost 1/2 to my goal! I was kinda confused on what surgery I wanted as well. But I did my research, and after talking to my dr, they suggested that I do the bypass for health reasons, as well as alot of people have revisions from lapband to RNY. But then again, there are alot of successful people on the lapband! :-) I do wish you the best of luck, as it is life changing, which ever journey you chose.
I have always been a big girl as well. I am 24 years old (Will be 25 this Saturday! EEEK) But I am excited about the changes, and SOOOOO READY!!!
Best wishes,
Jess
