 Hello Everyone,

I had VSG surgery  7 months ago and have lost -102 pounds and still losing strong.  I have never posted on this 20's board and being 22 should of done it  a while ago. I havent been on OH in a few months , but noticed i lost the most of my weight while being on here helping people out, getting help and I was more motivated hands down. I still have about another 50-60 lbs to loose and would love to meet new people here on this Forum around my age and hear any wonderful stories or tips.
Please feel free to add me as a friend, if you dont seem like a creep I will surely approve you lol Thats why my profile is kept private to keep the creeps and spam away.

Best of Luck to all of you !!

Hey I noticed that Mark Pleatman is your surgeon.  He is someone I was considering.  Were you out of state?  I know he does quite a few out of state (and I would be) but am trying to decide if I should just pay a little extra to have it done here.  I really liked that he returned my emails and called me so quickly.

Also, what kind of post-op diet does he recommend?  I'm interested because it seems like a lot of surgeons have a looser program whereas the surgeon that I'm considering in-state is all about super-low carbs forever which doesn't seem to be true across the board.

Motivate me!

Dr.Pleatman is an amazing doctor and person.  I was an out of state patient and flew from Miami,FL to Michigan to have the VSG done by him. I payed $11,200 for everything and was super pleased with my whole experience. I stayed in Michigan for 7 days to be safe and the doctor called me a few times from his home phone number to see how I was doing as well as me going in for a post-op check up before i flew back home. The hospital he uses is pretty good and you only stay 24hrs  and then your free to go. He has a nutritionist named Jenny who goes over everything on how to eat post-op in a 2 hour class you take with her and the doctors assistants.  Im 7 months post -op and have lost 102 pounds and am proof the surgery works. Any questions i have I call or email the office and they get back to me ASAP. I plan on going back for my 1 year  check-up in july of this year.
Good Luck to you and if you have any questions feel free to message me

Congrats Rene,
I had wls 4 months ago and i am 75 lbs thinner so i am also doing well in my 20's. Do you exercise a lot? The weight is still coming off but not as fast as initially. Any suggestions for protein intake , i dont get as much as i should but the protein shakes just dont agree with me. take care and best of luck in your wls journey. Courtney

Thank You Courtney .......For protein i also have problems with some shakes , so i usually just have peanutbutter and crackers or a piece of chicken or steak additionally to what i eat to make sure I have all my protein for the day. Im at  stall right now and stuck at -105 pounds , but im not going to beat myself up ...i just need to work harder and loose another 50. I was working out 4 days a week but stopped last month and honestly have been a bit lazy. Bit the working out does speed up the weightloss process.

Hey I remember you from the VSG forum. Glad to hear things are going well for you. I've got a question though. How much food can you generally eat at one time at this point? Do you feel like your sleeve has stretched? The reason I ask is that I've been having problems lately with being able to eat a larger quantity of food at one time and it has me worried, so I'm wondering if any others are.
