So I'm loosing my mind I think. I have crazy anxiety about post surgery and how it will affect a lot of the stuff in my life. Physically I'm worried about the usual like my boobs, and excess skin etc, Also, my mom mentioned that she heard that people loose their hair often in the post op time? Has that happened to any of you guys?

Unfortunately, hair loss is pretty much standard about months 3-9 post op :-( Most people say that it isn't enough for anyone to notice. I personally lost a lot more hair than most people but I also had to be slowed down by the nutritionist and Dr. because I was loosing too quickly. While some people were able to notice my hair loss (I mean people who are really close to me) looking back at pictures I can't tell the difference from when my hair was falling out and when it wasn't. I'm 7 months out and my hair is already growing back so its really nothing too bad, its just stressful while you're going through it. The hair loss is just a reaction to the stress your body is going through. And once again, just let me know if you wanted to get together and chat sometime.

Hi,

I have a question, it looks like one of you had vsg and the other is going to have it.... Are they covered by your insurance and if so what insurance?  I really want vsg but have blue shield of ca and heard that they don't cover it.  because i am so yung (26) I am scared about long term effects from gastric bypass (malabsoprtion)?  any advise on getting insurance to cover vsg would be great appreciated?

My insurance flat out denied it. I had to pay for it out of pocket. I do know of a few people that have had their insurance cover the sleeve but they are few and far between. Keep asking around on OH and hopefully someone'll be able to help.

Anxiety is normal and healthy, so it's a good thing!

I did have hair loss and I also had hair loss after the birth of my son.  It's hormones and unfortunately inevitable for some and others won't have it that bad.  I took and still take 1000mgs of biotin and that really has helped me with regrowth.

I went from a 40 C to a 34 A/B depending on the bra.  I can always get implants one day.

I have loose skin on my tummy (had a baby though!), arms and thighs.  I can always get plastics done one day.

Cosmetic issues related to surgery can be fixed in one way or another and in my opinion shouldn't be a deterrent for someone to chose against surgery . I'd rather have small boobs and a little saggy skin than have my pre-op body.

Lots to think about, but good luck to you!

I'm only 4 months out, and I have started to notice more hair on my hairbrush lately, and extra strands on the bathroom floor when I brush, but nothing too extreem. Most people say they've lost some hair, but you can't notice it.
