 Hellllo Alll!!!

My name is Cari. I was wondering if anyone could give some insight into whether or not their menstrual cycle stopped during weight loss? From surgery 12/08 to about 8 months out (August 09) my period was regular. But since then its been about 5 months since I've had my cycle, I have not been sexually active...? Does anyone know why or have you experienced this?

I sure didn't miss mine (Very heavy from the 2nd one on post op :(  )but the definately were irregular. Coming of different days.. and just not making sense.  My first one after surgery was light, and thank god as it came a week post op and I wasn't up for dealing with it. I have gone back to the horrible cramps since surgery, BC pills used to fix that, and not even now. They were very heavy like I said, and just recently have come down a bit. I'm 8 months post op.

I would pose this question to your family doctor if you have one. This can be related to anything in 'normal life' like stress, or just hormonal changes. Treat it as you would not being a post op and see a doctor to make sure everything is still tickin' down there! :)

Hey!

My periods were SUPER normal after surgery. For the first time since I started I was getting them on the 23rd or 24th of every month like clockwork!...At least for the first 7 months.

Now they are irregular. They last the same, they hurt the same, they are as heavy or light as they ususally are but LORD knows when I'll get it lol It's the 5th and I still have yet to get mine. Le sigh! I'm not sure why exactly, just know it's frustrating.

I'm on the depo provera shot so that can also mess with your cycle, but I didn't have a period for the first 6 months post-op

I'm not a pro , but do you happen to know what your BMI or body fat % is? Is it possible that its too low? Just as being overweight can cause problems, so can being underweight.
