So I have some nice boobs, they're full, firm, not perky but big boobs are never perky. I am deeply concerned that if I have surgery (lap-band) and I lose about 100-120 pounds (I'm 291 right now) that my boobs will disappear and I'll have lifeless fat bags attached to my chest! I cannot tell you how devastating that would be!

I don't want my boobs to go without a fight! Is there any way to save your boobs from shrinking a bunch after the surgery? I'm not comfortable with the idea of getting breast augmentation since I do want to breastfeed and I haven't had children yet. Does anyone out there have a message of hope for my chesticles?

i think boobs have something to do w/ genetics i could be wrong, but i am 13 months out and have just now shifted from a 48dd to 40d. i still have my big boobs and im happy about that. a good bra makes all boobs perky.

That's a huge comfort to know that. I was worried I might end up with nothing left! t I'm a 46DD right now and I don't want to drop below a D if possible. I guess I'll just have to monitor the boob situation and see how it develops and hope for the best.

Like she said it pretty much exclusively up to genetics. It all depends on how much of your boobs are breast tissue and how much of it is fat. If women in your family who are within normal weight ranges also have big boobs, chances are you're going to keep them. However, if a majority of your breast size is fat deposits they're probably going to shrink. Also, I think that the slower you loose the weight the better off you'll be with the excess skin that can occur and make it worse. Not to worry you or anything, but I was a 46DD before surgery and now at 7 months out I'm a 34C. I know you said you wouldn't want to be anything less than a D, but trust me, once your body overall is shrinking sizes we originally thought were smaller look a lot bigger when you're missing 120lbs. I personally can't imagine still being a D or DD because I can promise you that I would have one heck of a time fitting into M or L tops! All I can say is its worth it to loose the weight!

**WARNING: This is TMI and a Horror Story!! Read at your own risk lol**

I wish I had a message of hope!

I have some pretty awesome genetics as far as my tata's go lol Mine were full, firm, bouncy realness! Now...le sigh. I can't even tell you how disappointed I am that I, in fact, do NOT have the staying power that the rest of my family's boobies do.

They deflated...It was as if someone just hit them with a pin and poof. Gone. They sag, there is a ton and a half (approximately lol) of extra skin that when lifted with a good bra just sits on top and is unbelievably wrinkly so I have to kind of tuck it into my bra. It's terribly embarrassing.

I started crying the other night to my boyfriend because my nipples even shifted lol They're like...down...super low. Like at the bottom of my boob. SO! I can't see me breastfeeding any longer. I think I would smother my poor baby lol

ANYWAY! This is just my HORROR story. I can't imagine it getting worse.

My boobs deflated to something that looked like oranges hanging inside socks.

Never fear, though! I had breast augmentation surgery last August and they're better than they ever were and on a nice looking body, to boot!

If your only reservation about getting a boob job is breast feeding, you should know that you CAN breast feed after augmentation. Or so my doc says and other women who have had augmentation and kids say.

For what its worth, I went with silicone inserted through the nipple and couldn't be happier. I'm a 38 DD/E and they're lovely, perky and best of all real looking/feeling. I've had boyfriends who don't even know. I had one guy argue with me about them being real. Men are so clueless!

Good luck on your journey and please don't let the fear of losing your boobs influence you too much.

well mine are def smaller, but i think they look way better now, they are not as full as they used to be. but they are like more inplace, well that's what i think. i was considering a Breast augmentation, but now im starting to feel very confortable about them.
and it sooo worth the weight loss! there is always plastic surgery, n im not confortable with the idea of having any PS. but its something that i have to do so.... YAY!.
hugs!

i stole what a call them from a friend, but mine boobies are now called arangatang boobs!

they are pancakes and deflated now, but still nice under clothing with a nice bra on! so you have hope even if they dont stay nice!

i went from a 44ddd to a 36d so the d-ness is still there, but prolly just cause there is alot ALOT (or what i c as a lot of excess skin).

my nipples get diff too, but i like the new nips i got now. hahahaha feels so weird typing that.

theres hope for your boobies dont fret!

But you don’t

So mine were huge and I mean HUGE before my RNY (44F) and they went down to a 38DD/DDD (and they were badly deflated, hanging, heavy, hurt my shoulders and neck, etc).  Then I had a breast reduction and now, even after another kid, I'm still a 34C/D (depends on the bra) and very happy with them.

I agree with the other girls that it's all in the genetics, for the most part.
