20's extra skin
hey girl- i have some pictures on my page. i have a lot of loose skin, especially on my stomach. My arms don't look horrible, but my stomach folds over in a nasty flap and i've been looking into plastics. it also depends on other factor too, which no one wants to hear but it's true.
As someone told me lately, everyone deserves the chance to fly!
I'm 25 and I had the surgery a little over three months ago. I was 285 at my heaviest. I've lost almost 100 pounds so far and I know I'm going to have extra skin. I already have a bit on my arms, but I'm hoping with more exercise that will go down on its own. There is a bit on my upper legs too, which I expected. I don't work out as much as I should and I've read and been told that has a lot to do with the skin at th end. Some of me not working out is due to problems I have with my legs (not related to the surgery) and some because I'm not pushing myself enough. The extra skin I have on my lower stomach was already there some and Its gone down, but as I loose more weight I think its going to become more and more bothersome. I plan on having more children, I have a 3 year old now and I'm not sure if I want to have plastic surgery before or after. I know that my insurance will cover some, and I don't know what I could afford otherwise. I do know people who have had a tummy tuck and then had children after and had their stomach go back the way it was after the surgery. So I think if my insurance would cover it I would have the tummy tuck and leg lift as soon as I've hit goal and can get approved.

I'm 28 and all I can say is my extra skin is BAD :( I look like a wrinkled shar pei.
Luckily Spanx holds it in and I look ok in clothes. Without that though I'm a hot mess.
I WILL be getting plastics, so I'm already saving up.

i haven't had the surgery yet, but i have heard from other patients that in the first year your body is in a very active, fast paced weight loss stage and your skin doesn't really have time to catch up. exercising will most def help, but it really depends on your unique body shape and where you hold your weight the most. plus, ya gotta think about whether or not you want kids, and how that will affect you if you have say a tummy tuck and then get pregnant. i would think long and hard about your situation and really consider factors like having kids before you go through with anything, afterall, say ya got a tummy tuck and it removed most of your stretch marks, and then ya get preggo and get new ones all over again? just something to think about, but best of luck sweetness!
I am around 30 pounds from goal and so far it is not the end of the world with the skin. I am not wearing a bikini any time soon but I will wear a bathing suit this summer! My stomach is bad but i have also had 2 babies one almost 10 pounds so I didn't start out with the best stomach. my arms are a little nerving for me I like to keep a cardigan on them but my mom says that they are not as bad as I think. my legs are not bad except for high up on my thighs and no one sees that anyways. I am going to look into plastics at some point but I have a lot more to do before that! good luck
