nervous
I just cant belive that my 6 month pre op diet is over and now I am meeting with the surgon. I know this day was coming but i never thought it was actually going to get here and now my tummy is in knots and i dont even have a date yet. I am so looking forward to having this surgery and getting my life back and being able to do all the things that i enjoy and all the things i couldnt do! Any advice to calmn my nerves?
Honestly not sure if anything anyone says will calm those nervers..lol But try getting things together that you know your going to need for the big day. This really did help me out. But yes like you I am still nervious. That day will come so fast you wont believe it. I am excited for you and hope for the best of news when you meet with your surgeon. Good luck!!!
I remember those nervous moments very well, and I felt very much the same way about seeing the surgeon. However, once I was actually at the surgeon's, everything was just fine! In fact, I left even more excited about the surgery, because my surgeon was so positive and encouraging.
However, if you are prone to anxiety, one thing I would suggest is getting away from OH for the last few days before surgery. I was pretty addicted to reading the boards, but by the last few days I wasn't getting more educated, just more nervous. The 20s board would have been fine, as everyone is so encouraging here, but other places, like the main RNY board were just too much.
I pretty much curled up on the couch and read a cheesy novel for the last few days before surgery.
That being said, I haven't regretted my decision for a moment since I got home from the hospital about 30 hours after my surgery, and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Good Luck!

Congrats on everything so far! I know the wait can be crazy but your time will come...
For me, I was constantly online on these forums chats anything I could keep myself busy with. I think my frenz and fam was sick of listening to me talk about it too! hahahha
