What's YOUR New Years resolution?

This is a common question that I sure we will all be sick of being asked with in the next week but I thought we should all commit to one (or more) on here. It can be anything you want to accomplish with in 2010! here are mine

Reach my goal weight of 155 by May 23 and maintain it
Start and stick to a work out plan that makes me want to do it.
Get accepted into a program for school so I can look forward to graduating.

I can't wait to hear everyone else resolutions!

For once my resolution is not going to be about weight at all! I'm not worried about starting a diet I know ill fail. I know the RNY will work as long as I just work on being healthy! 1) Become debt free! 2) Buy a pair of jeans from the Buckel 3) Be a loving, positive, supportive wife to my husband while he is in Afghanistan.

 Well, I have two:

-To be as perfect a WLS patient as possible (I can't control the number on the scale or the size of my clothes, but I can control what I do)

-I just got a job as teaching 8th grade English beginning Jan. 4 and I am resolving to be the kind of disciplinarian I never thought I could be.  (I'm great at the teaching part, but the discipline stuff is a little tougher for me...)

I don't really like to set resolutions because I always seem to break them, but I guess I'll say a few of the things I would like to accomplish this year:

1)  I want to continue to maintain 137 lbs or even lose just a few pounds back to 130 lbs, but no lower than that.  And I want to concentrate on putting protein first again.

2)  I want to get more structured with my exercise and set a routine for myself.

3)  I want to get answers to what's going on with my allergies/asthma and hopefully hightail it out of Oklahoma sometime in '10!

4)  I want to finish a chunk of my Master's classes this year and graduate on time in '11.

Great post!

I would love to keep my grades at a 4.0, be more active with my daughter, and (of course) loose weight!

Fabulous!
I just moved two hours away from home to finish school and change along with everything else flew my social and academic paths off kilter.  So... instead of real resolutions (that I fail at all the time) I plan to have goals.

1. I will reach goal this year. Just 45 pounds to go!
2. Half will be gone by March 21 (my birthday)
3. Live for Me
4. Perfect my Studies
5. Vist the Gym at least 3 times a week

Woot!

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

In 2010 I will:
Finish all prerequisites for the surgery as fast as possible.

Have the surgery and follow every rule to the letter.

When we go to Italy in June, I want to be able to put the tray all the way down and buckle the seatbelt without an extension!

2010 is going to be a great year...

I have a lot of them but all realistic!  I'm a big believer in the ability to do anything if you have a plan and steps to reach your goals.  Mine are:

1 - Try to get in the recommended 5-9 servings of fruits and veggies a day.  I realize that my 5-9 servings will more likely be 3-5 on a normal person but oh well.  I figure if I'm striving to get them along with protein, which I do pretty well at, there's not a lot of room for junk.

2 - Pay off my husband's student loan and then start chipping away at mine.  We want to be debt free by next year.  We figured out our budget and it should be paid off, hopefully within 6 months if not sooner.

3 - Run my first races this spring starting with a 5K on St. Patrick's Day and then hopefully do a 10K by the time fall hits.  I am starting with getting in 5 miles a week and working up to 10.

4 - Get down to 125 and maintain that.  #1 and #3 should help with this plus trying to log my food everyday.

5 - Try to have a better relationship with food.  I want to become more conscious of my choices of what to put in my body to make it healthier versus mindless eating and just eating what tastes good.  To help with this, I'm going to be getting more into yoga which has a great calming affect for me that seems to spill over into other areas in my life, which is good.  Also taking a step back before I eat something (other than planned meals) and deciding if it's real hunger versus emotional hunger.

I hope everyone reaches their goals!
